Food Writing

Sample some of my most delicious writing

MSN City Guides

Remember signing out of hotmail, how MSN would show you some fun article? These articles filled that slot. Over the years (the late oughts), these were called Local Edition, Local/Travel, and City Guides.

My sincere apologies that these are image files--the articles themselves have long since come down.

Sipping the Spirit of America a 2009 look at the microdistilleries that were starting to pop up around the nation.

No Dishes to Wash: Eating out on Thanksgiving recommendations for restaurants to eat out at for Thanksgiving dinner in cities around the country.

Home Sweet Home a guide to regional treats around the US. Page 1Page 2; Page 3

Tasting the First Draft of Excellence culinary schools can be a great place to get a great meal for cheap--here are ones to try around the nation.

Foodie Road Trips get to know the New York Beer Trail, the Vermont Cheese Trail, The Texas BBQ Trail, the Fresno Fruit Trail, or the Finger Lakes Chocolate Trail Page 1; Page 2; Page 3

MSN Postbox Philadelphia

In 2011-12, MSN tried out running city-specific sites that brought together cool local events. I was Community Manager for the Postbox Philadelphia site. These were, sadly, a short-lived experiment, but they were fun while they lasted, and for a few months I created two posts per day and maintained a Twitter presence.

Here are a few samples of restaurant write ups I did:
